Herkkumaa is taking a giant leap forward in packaging innovation

We have long been searching for ways to offer consumers alternatives to glass jars. Now, one of the new packages is nearly ready to hit the shelves. We are investing in our cup packaging line, and we are beginning to make our Arctic Berries jams and cucumber salads in cup packaging produced from paper and plastic. Consumers are familiar with these packages because they are often used for sour cream and noodle pots.

The paper used for the cup packages comes from renewable sources, and the entire package is easy to recycle. The package is designed to use 15% less plastic than similar cups, and the carbon dioxide emissions of the manufacturing process are up to 16% lower than for ordinary cup packages. Our investments and these new packages are our way of contributing to the fight against climate change and investing in the future of Finnish work.

We hope to get these new products onto shop shelves before the end of the year!
